PROK International Ltd now known as PROK Pty Ltd was founded in 1948. It has, in fact, a history through a series of amalgamations with companies of complementary interests dating from 1880.

1880A. Challingsworth Pty Ltd established in Australia specialising in large steel fabrications requiring advanced engineering and construction capability.
1889Gibson Battle & Company Ltd formed to become materials handling specialists.
1925Marfleet & Weight Pty Ltd founded jobbing engineers to Australian basic industries.
1948Production Equipment Pty Ltd (PROK) established to design and manufacture a range of production machinery for a variety of industries and to develop new concepts in conveyor technology based on the famous PROK Conveyor Idler.
1954Marfleet & Weight Pty Ltd becomes a public company.
1960Marfleet & Weight Pty Ltd purchases A. Challingsworth Pty Ltd to complement its rapidly expanding manufacturing capability.
1959Marfleet & Weight Pty Ltd purchases Gibson Battle Pty Ltd to provide a sales organisation and entry to the materials handling industry.
1971Production Equipment Pty Ltd becomes a public company.
1972Production Equipment Ltd purchases Marfleet & Weight Pty Ltd group of companies to expand its already heavy involvement in the design & supply of conveyor systems and hardware to the mining and associated industries in Australia and world markets.
1976Production Equipment Ltd purchases the engineering division of Gollin & Company Ltd and establishes Prok Campbelltown division.
1977Major award provided to Production Equipment Ltd for export of conveyor components; pulleys and idlers.
1980Production Equipment Ltd name change to PROK International Ltd.
1981Construction of plant number 5 – 2400 sqm fabrication plant in Victoria, Australia.
1985PROK acquires well-known conveyor component manufacturer Reg a Bell Pty Ltd in Perth Western Australia.
1986PROK International Ltd is an all Australian company operating and recognised internationally.
1989PROK International Ltd name changes to PROK Group Limited.
1990PROK Group Limited acquired by Outukompu Oy and becomes part of Roxon Oy of Finland. The Finnish group has large investments in Australia through its mining arm and with the addition of PROK Group Limited, now has a large field of manufacturing in the conveyor industry and materials handling, covering five countries and three continents.
1995Tampella acquires conveyor component and systems business from Outukompu.
1997Tampella becomes Tamrock prior to the Sandvik acquisition.
2000Sandvik acquires Australian conveyor maintenance company Beltreco and together existing PROK business becomes Sandvik Materials Handling in Australia.
2009Sandvik Materials Handling opens new production unit for conveyor components in Vespasiano, Brazil.
2017NEPEAN acquires global conveyor components and systems business from Sandvik and rebrands the business to PROK, GURTEC and ROXON in their respective regions. Well known brand PROK returns to the Australasian and North American markets.
